AllInsight AI
Explains everything.
Decides nothing.
An optional assistant that runs entirely on your machine, answers questions about it in plain language, and has no way to act on anything.
Ask it anything about your machine
Answers built from measurements.
The model is handed the same facts the screens show, and told not to invent numbers. The buttons under an answer are chosen from those measurements, never from what the model wrote.

Two layers
Fully useful without a model.
I
Deterministic insights
The device score, its reasons, the recommendations and the Overview summary are all filled in from measurements, by rules that can be read and tested. This is what makes "works fully without a model" true rather than aspirational.
II
The local model, if you want one
Optional and conversational. It runs as a separate llama.cpp process on your machine, so a model that hangs or runs out of memory cannot take the window with it, and AllInsight itself contains no weights.
Transparency
Exactly what the model is given.
One block of text, built from measurements. AllInsight AI shows it to you verbatim. No file names, no file contents, no paths beyond the folders shown. Your question follows an explicit marker, so a question cannot pass itself off as data.

END OF MEASUREMENTS
What it cannot do
It returns words.
Nothing else happens.
No part of AllInsight reads the model's answer for commands, paths or file names. Its output is cleaned of hidden control characters and capped in length. The engine is started without a shell and bound to 127.0.0.1. There is simply no code path from what the model says to anything on your disk.
Choosing a model
Sized to your disk and your memory.
AllInsight picks the largest model that fits both: at most half your memory, and your free space minus a 6 GB reserve, so installing a model can never be what fills the drive. If nothing fits, it says so.
| Size | On disk | Memory | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.5B | ~400 MB | ~1 GB | The smallest useful option. Terse but coherent. |
| 1B | ~810 MB | ~2 GB | A good balance when storage is tight. |
| 1.5B | ~1.1 GB | ~3 GB | Noticeably better prose for a small extra cost. |
| 3B | ~2 GB | ~4 GB | Comfortable when there is room to spare. |
| 7B–8B | ~4.7 GB | ~6 GB | The best answers, if disk and memory allow. |
All sizes at Q4_K_M, the usual sweet spot. Setup takes four steps, described on the download page.
